Pranayama, or  Breath Meditation 

 Pranayama is the conscious awareness of the breath, the life force that energizes and relaxes the body. The term is derived from the Sanskrit words "Prana," meaning "life force," and "Ayam," meaning "extension."  Pranayama is an integral part of yoga. 


In this hatha class, we explore a range of traditional yogic breathing exercises called Pranayama, designed to leave you feeling relaxed and revitalized. Pranayama has a lot of benefits; it helps you concentrate better, sleep deeper, lower your blood pressure, and reduce the stress levels in your body. Regular yoga benefits the body and mind's physical, mental, social, and emotional development.


 This yoga class will teach you the proper breathing techniques and relaxation methods to incorporate into your daily life. Here, we will practice some easy techniques for deep breathing with relaxing stretches. These are simple to follow and can be practiced at home as well.   

 

A little bit about our class!
 In our class, we focus primarily on Pranayama/breathing. We gently concentrate on our breath and draw our focus inward toward ourselves. Also included are some gentle and easy Yoga asanas or stretching exercises. We maintain an easy-to-follow instructional class for a novice and, at the same time, make it challenging enough for an experienced practitioner. This class will leave you feeling both relaxed & revitalized.
